What blablaType can do
Accurate in your language
The blablaType engine is tuned for real speech in underserved languages, not just English. It keeps up with fast talk, names and slang.
Works in every app
Dictate straight into Word, Telegram, email or your browser. Text appears where your cursor is, no copy-paste.
Your own dictionary
Add names, terms and brands to your personal dictionary, and blablaType uses them when it recognizes speech. You're in control of the list.
Voice commands
On Max, select a piece of text and tell it what to do: "shorten this", "make it formal", "translate it". Your hands stay where they are.
Translate as you speak
Speak your language and watch English appear in the field. Handy for chats with clients and colleagues abroad.
Send as you speak
MaxDictate a message and Enter presses itself, so the message is spoken and sent without touching the keyboard.
How it works
-
Hold a key and talk
One hotkey starts dictation from any window, with no switching between programs. Hold it and talk, let go, and the text is already in. Prefer hands-free? Tap it twice to lock recording on and dictate without holding, then tap once more to stop.
-
Text lands at your cursor
Recognized speech is typed right where your cursor is: a document, a chat, an email, the browser bar, a form field. Nothing to copy by hand, nowhere to switch. It works in any app on your computer, as if you were typing yourself, only by voice and faster.
-
Edit by voice and send
Auto-punctuation adds the commas and periods on its own, on every plan. On Max you can edit by voice too: select the text and say "shorten this", "make it formal" or "translate it". The text reaches its final shape, and all that is left is to hit send, or let Max press Enter for you.

Yes. The web widget runs on your browser's built-in recognition and is free without time caps. That is the basic tier. The desktop blablaType is more accurate and works in every app, and it also has a free plan that never expires: 60 minutes of dictation a month, no card needed.
You can dictate in Russian, Ukrainian and English, with noticeably higher accuracy on Russian and Ukrainian than the built-in system dictation. Translation of what you dictate is available into the major languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Polish and more.
Yes, recognition runs on a server. That is what makes it more accurate than offline models on slower machines.
In the free web widget your browser sends audio to Google's speech service. In the desktop app audio goes to our servers only for the moment of recognition and is not stored.
More accurate beyond English, works the same in every app, applies your custom dictionary, understands voice commands and can translate as you speak.
blablaType runs on Windows for now, and a macOS version is in the works. Free in-browser dictation works on any system.
