blablaType Cookie Policy

2026-06-13

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (primarily browser localStorage) the blablatype.app website uses, what they are for, how long they are stored, and how you can manage them.

In short: the site keeps technology to a minimum. A few localStorage entries that make the interface and free quotas work, anonymized Google Analytics 4 analytics, and technical Cloudflare cookies that protect the site. There are no advertising cookies, and no data is collected or shared for ad targeting.

Questions about this policy can be sent to support@blablatype.app, and questions about personal data to privacy@blablatype.app.

What cookies and localStorage are

Cookies: small text files that a website saves in your browser. On your next visits, the browser sends them back to the site, so the site can recognize you or restore your settings.

localStorage: storage inside the browser where a site saves data locally on your device. Unlike cookies, localStorage entries are not sent to the server automatically with every request. The blablaType site uses localStorage for most of its needs precisely because it is a more local and less intrusive way to store settings.

localStorage entries used by the site

bbt-theme: remembers your chosen color theme (light or dark) so that the site opens the way you left it on your next visit. Purpose: interface operation. Storage period: until you clear your browser data.

bbt-lang: remembers your chosen site language (Russian, Ukrainian, English) so you do not have to pick it again on every visit. Purpose: interface operation. Storage period: until you clear your browser data.

bbt-anon: an anonymous session token. It is needed to track free quotas (for example, free transcription minutes) without registration or signing in to an account. The token does not contain your name, email, or any other personal data. Purpose: operation of free features. Storage period: until you clear your browser data.

bbt-dw-visits: a usage counter for the free dictation widget on the home page. It helps the site know how many times you have used the widget. Purpose: widget operation. Storage period: until you clear your browser data.

All four entries are strictly necessary: without them the site cannot remember your settings or handle free quotas correctly. They are not used for advertising and are not shared with third parties.

Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site: which pages they open, which devices they come from, and at which steps they leave. This helps us improve the site and the product.

GA4 sets the _ga cookie and cookies of the _ga_* form (with a property identifier). They contain a random browser identifier and do not contain your name, email, or any other direct identifiers. Storage period for these cookies: up to 2 years.

The analytics is anonymized: we look at aggregated statistics, not at the actions of a specific person. GA4 data is not used to serve ads, and Google's advertising features are not enabled.

Technical Cloudflare cookies

The site runs on Cloudflare infrastructure (CDN and attack protection). Cloudflare may set its own technical cookies needed for security: for example, to tell regular visitors apart from bots and to protect the site from automated attacks.

These cookies are strictly necessary: they keep the site working and secure and are not used for analytics or advertising. Their exact set and lifetimes are determined by Cloudflare; details are available in Cloudflare's cookie documentation.

What the site does not have

There are no advertising cookies. The site does not use ad networks, social media pixels, retargeting, or any technologies that track you across other sites to serve ads.

We do not sell or share cookie data with third parties for their own purposes. The only external services connected to cookies on the site are Google (GA4 analytics) and Cloudflare (technical protection).

How to disable cookies and clear localStorage

You can manage cookies and localStorage through your browser settings. In most browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) this is the "Privacy and security" or "Cookies and site data" section. There you can view the data stored by a specific site, delete it, or block sites from storing data altogether.

Clearing the site data will remove the localStorage entries (bbt-theme, bbt-lang, bbt-anon, bbt-dw-visits) and cookies. After that the site will forget your theme, language, and free quota counters: everything will start from the default settings.

GA4 analytics can be disabled separately: block the _ga cookies in your browser settings, use a tracker-blocking mode, or install Google's official "Google Analytics Opt-out" extension. The site will keep working without analytics cookies.

If you completely block data storage for blablatype.app, the site will remain accessible, but theme and language memory will stop working, and the free quotas for the widget and transcription will not be counted correctly.

Cookies and the desktop app

This policy covers only the blablatype.app website. The blablaType desktop app for Windows does not use browser cookies: it is a separate program, and its data processing is described in the Privacy Policy.

We may update this policy, for example when new services are connected. The current version is always published on this page, and the date of the last update is shown at the top of the document. We will additionally highlight material changes on the site.
